VR Game Recommendations: Realistic Boxing on Meta Quest 3 with Tips and Tricks

Hello. This is Seojun from Shinbi Days.
Today I want to introduce you to a VR boxing game I enjoy playing at home.
This game is incredibly realistic and offers excellent workout benefits, making it great for fitness too.
The virtual reality game is called ‘The Thrill of the Fight.’
The Thrill of the Fight
This realistic boxing game, often shortened to ‘TOTF,’
can be played on Oculus (Meta) Quest 2 and above.
With the latest Meta Quest 3 device,
you can use the passthrough feature
to bring game characters into your real space 😀
Isn’t that amazing?
The latest device supports color passthrough,
so you can enjoy an immersive match.
Plus, there’s almost no risk of bumping into things!
TOTF: Realistic Physics Engine
I can debut as a boxer now!

TOTF (The Thrill of the Fight) features an incredibly realistic physics engine.
It tracks your punch angle, speed, and overall body position,
measuring your punch power and displaying it numerically.
There are various training tools like heavy bags, dummies, and punching balls
where you can measure accuracy and actual punch power.
I’ve been doing muscle density training recently,
and my weight has increased significantly along with my physical abilities.
I was surprised to see my score jump by 300 to 600 points in just one or two months.
The realism is in how punch power doesn’t fluctuate easily in real life.

So I started sparring
with a sense of pride.
In this game, if you deal significant damage, your opponent can actually get KO’d,
and the more precise your angle, the higher the probability 🙂
Maybe because my punch power increased recently,
opponents were dropping helplessly left and right.
The thrill and sense of achievement were indescribable.

Let me share the basic defensive techniques in TOTF boxing.
These are strategies commonly used in actual matches too.
If you keep both gloved fists as close as possible to your opponent’s gloves,
it becomes harder for them to throw punches, and even if you get hit, the damage is reduced to a third.
This is also a great method for MMA fighters when facing boxers.

There are also weaving and ducking movements to dodge side to side.
You twist your upper body left or right while leaning diagonally.
The lower the dummy’s level, the more telegraphed their movements, making it easier.
Practicing here will really help at an actual boxing gym.
Even though I’ve been going to the gym for a long time, I still feel the impact from TOTF is significant.
