A few days ago, I was chatting on Discord with my friend Qila, who lives in Indonesia,
just like any other day.
That day, Qila happened to be streaming a game called ‘Dinkum.’
There were no flashy effects or intense action—
just calm background music, cute animals, and a warm atmosphere.
Since I needed some quiet healing for my body and soul that day,
I felt like ‘this is the game.’ 🎧
🤝 Weekend Choices with Indonesian Friends
We were picking a game to play together over the weekend.
Dinkum, VRChat, Repo, Sky: Children of the Light…
There were several options, but my heart was drawn to ‘Dinkum.’
Qila asked for my Steam account to add me as a friend,
and we laughed as she said, “yangnor25… no wait, Mafia Jun?” 😏
🌿 First Login, the Sudden Appearance of a ‘Silver Spoon Farm’
After finishing the simple tutorial, I jumped straight into multiplayer…
It was amazing.
I entered a wealthy farm that was perfectly set up from the start.
It seemed to be an island run by Qila’s friend Coreng,
and it already had all the materials, farms, and animals ready.

In this game, the next day only starts when every player lies down in a sleeping bag.
Not knowing that, I was lying down alone thinking,
“Why isn’t the night ending?” Haha.
Normally, when I lie in a sleeping bag alone,
the next morning should come…
I didn’t realize that in multiplayer,
everyone has to lie down together.
Coreng and Qila had quietly slipped into their beds.
This kind of consideration within the game felt somehow warm.
🐠 Gifting Butterflies and Fishing Together
In the game, I caught a silver perch to give to Qila,
and also handed her a pretty butterfly.
We laughed together and spent time exploring each other’s spaces.
The scene where Qila teased Coreng by calling him a crocodile (buaya),
the carousel bike we rode together,
and even the moment lying in a sleeping bag floating on the water.
Every scene was precious enough to remain in my memory.

‘Dinkum’ has a crafting system like Minecraft,
but the structure is not complex; you can craft immediately if you have the materials,
so even a gaming beginner could adapt quickly.

I could also feel the fun of earning money, collecting, and growing.

The sound of footsteps with every walk,
the calm background music,
and the conversations with friends.
All of this was a comforting healing experience.
