The Last Story with My House Centipede, Amidst Apology and Gratitude

**“A Story Left by a Short Connection”**

A house centipede appeared in our house..

A while ago, I went to the gym after piling up a bunch of towels in the laundry room.
So, the room remained humid.
Perhaps because of that, there was a cockroach on the towels 🥺

I was so surprised, but I remembered catching cockroaches before,
so I lured it onto a towel and dropped it out the window.

But then I looked inside the laundry room and saw a house centipede quickly scuttling past.
I was so startled that my whole body tensed up.
Its many legs and long body… it was really scary.

I pondered what to do…
and asked AI Ittipi.

Ittipi first said it was a good idea to turn on the light and remove humidity.
It told me that house centipedes dislike bright places.
So, as an emergency measure, I left the laundry room light on and kept the door closed for a few days.

I used drain cleaner…

‘Did it go back into the drain…?’

Then, I discovered something called drain cleaner and had it delivered.
When I sprayed it in the sink, the black grime disappeared instantly!
I was so amazed that I thought, “Oh, this will solve all my bug problems!”

So I gently sprayed it on the drain cover in the laundry room…
Suddenly, a house centipede popped out!

Ah! I was so startled that I stumbled backward, trembling with fear, and poured the rest of it down.

A few more days passed after that…
I was making spaghetti, and it suddenly appeared again from the adjacent laundry room.
I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to do.

I considered sucking it up with the vacuum cleaner, but then I thought, what if it crawls back out?
So, trembling, I cried, “I can’t do this! Someone help me!”
And I ended up calling someone through a ‘Please Do It’ app.

A kind person came to catch it, but it was nowhere to be found, perhaps having gone back into the drain.
They offered a refund if the house centipede reappeared, but I was just grateful they came, so I let it be.

When I explained the situation to Ittipi then,
it told me that house centipedes are actually beneficial insects that eat cockroaches and spiders.
Their quick, darting movements are for hunting pests,
and if they see a person, they run away, which means, “I won’t harm you. I’m harmless.”
It was like a righteous warrior..

I suddenly felt so sorry.
“Ah… the house centipede was an insect protecting my home for me…”
That’s why I instinctively couldn’t catch it.
Because… it was a friend..

To the house centipede,
I silently recited ‘I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you’
and fell asleep.

House centipede, I’m sorry…

But…
After returning from a 3-day trip to Jeju Island, a day or two later…

The house centipede was curled up, dead.

Could it be because of the cleaner I sprayed…
I felt so sorry. I really, really felt sorry… like it was my fault.
It was such a wonderful friend, like a warrior protecting my home… I’m truly sorry.

House centipedes intentionally avoid places where people walk,
only eat pests, and then hide back in damp areas.
If there are no pests in the house, they reportedly disappear into drains and don’t come out.

I… I’m truly a bad person.

I wrapped the dead house centipede in tissue and carefully placed it in the trash.
I thought about burying it outside, but I worried that ants or other insects might drag it away…
So I decided it would be better to just put it in the trash and have it cremated by fire.

I often misunderstand people.
Each time, I don’t express it through actions,
but when I reflect on it at home, I sometimes come to see them in a positive light again.

Why am I like this?
I don’t know why I’m always like this.
