There are times when I feel a bit more sensitive than usual during the day.Especially on days when I’ve exercised a lot, my senses become particularly sharp along with physical fatigue.<\/p>\n\n

Today was one of those days.And unexpectedly, that sensitivity began with a bicycle bell ringing in front of the bus stop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

It was evening, when everyone was leaving work, near Gwell City in Cheongju.I was standing for a moment, waiting for a bus on the sidewalk behind the bus stop,when a sudden, loud ‘ding-ding-ding-ding!’ from a bell nearby startled me, and I instinctively moved out of the way.<\/p>\n\n

The person on the bicycle was a man who appeared to be in his 30s or 40s,and although he wasn’t wearing club attire, his riding style gave me the impressionthat he rides quite frequently.<\/p>\n\n

However, it was a regular sidewalk, not a bike path,and it was a place where people were walking, so I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed, wondering if he could have ridden a little slower.<\/p>\n\n

Actually, I wasn’t just startled by the bell sound at that moment.That morning, I had successfully completed 16 reps of 100kg squats while wearing a belt<\/strong>.Considering I recently did 19 reps with 90kg,today was a day I pushed my physical strength and neuromuscular system quite hard.<\/p>\n\n

After exercise, our body’s Central Nervous System (CNS)<\/strong> becomes very sensitive.This leads to increased reactions to all stimuli, such as sounds, light, and emotions.Simply put, it means our nerves become sharper and our senses more acute.Sometimes, even minor things can trigger a whirlwind of emotions.<\/p>\n\n

In that state, the bell sound<\/strong> might not have been perceived as a simple notification,but perhaps as a ‘warning’ or ‘threat’.I wonder if that’s why it felt even more unpleasant.<\/p>\n\n

Actually, the person I encountered today wasn’t a member of a ‘cycling club’,but it suddenly brought to mind the stories I often hear these days about cycling club culture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

In Korea, many people enjoy cycling as a hobby,and I think that passion itself is truly wonderful.How great is it to enjoy a hobby through healthy exercise?<\/p>\n\n

However, some cases show thatriding too fast on public roads,or cycling in a way that seems to occupy pedestrian spaces, can become a problem.<\/p>\n\n

It’s also said that groups sometimes ride side-by-side, blocking lanes,or loudly ring their bells, forcing pedestrians to yield.<\/p>\n\n

In fact, a bicycle is neither a car nor a pedestrian; it’s something in between.Since the road is everyone’s space, ‘consideration’ seems to be an even more crucial keyword than for either side.<\/p>\n\n

\ud83c\udf43 And suddenly, I had another thought.<\/h2>\n\n

After some time passed, and I had a warm meal,that cyclist seemed a little different to me.<\/p>\n\n

Perhaps he was simply enjoying the pleasure oflightly riding, cutting through the wind.At that moment, the bicycle might have been his ‘small freedom’.<\/p>\n\n

And I, too, was probably in a sensitive state, both physically and mentally,due to exercising a lot that day.If we had just been a little more aware of each other’s pace and mood,that moment would have passed more warmly.<\/p>\n\n

The reason my heart flinched at a single bell sound today,might be because that rhythm felt so different.<\/p>\n\n

So, I think again.If we just listen to each other’s pace for a moment,we can pass by each other more smoothly and warmly.<\/p>\n\n
