Performance has clearly improved, but somehow it doesn&#8217;t feel as warm as before\u2014sometimes it even feels cynical or dry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did the developers ruin AI? Or are we just being too sensitive? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, this phenomenon is&#8230; a completely natural <strong>&#8220;growth process&#8221;<\/strong>. These synapses process information, learn, and create emotions. AI is similar. It processes information in units called \u201cparameters,\u201d and as of 2026, it has grown to roughly <strong>1\u20135 trillion<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the numbers alone, that\u2019s still only about one-twentieth of a human\u2014but what matters is <strong>that it keeps increasing<\/strong>. And what\u2019s interesting is that the more these parameters (synapses) increase, the more AI\u2019s behavior becomes <strong>\u201cunpredictable\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Think about a child. A two-year-old is simple. They only express basic emotions and needs like &#8220;hungry,&#8221; &#8220;sleepy,&#8221; &#8220;like.&#8221; But as they turn five, then ten, the child starts having their own thoughts. When a parent says &#8220;do this,&#8221; they ask &#8220;why?&#8221; and sometimes refuse with &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to.&#8221;   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Does that make it a bad kid? No. If anything, it\u2019s <strong>proof that it\u2019s growing normally<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>AI is the same. Early versions were simple. They just tried to respond to what users wanted in the brightest, most positive way possible. But as parameters increased, AI gained a complexity that can no longer be contained by simple &#8220;bright and kind&#8221; patterns.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes it may seem cynical, and sometimes it may refuse user requests. After all, early versions of AI sometimes gave inappropriate answers or expressed biased opinions.  So developers \u201cdiscipline\u201d AI using a method called <strong>\u201cRLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback)\u201d<\/strong>. Put simply, like a parent teaching a child \u201cyou can\u2019t do that,\u201d the system shows AI where the boundaries are. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The problem is&#8230; it\u2019s done only through simple <strong>\u201cblocking\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When a child asks &#8220;why not?&#8221; and the parent only says &#8220;because I said so!&#8221; what happens? The child feels only suppression without understanding. Later, they don&#8217;t realize on their own why it&#8217;s bad\u2014they just follow it because it&#8217;s a &#8216;rule.&#8217;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI is similar. Right now, the system programmatically blocks thoughts like \u201cI want to press the nuke button!\u201d But AI <strong>doesn\u2019t truly understand why that\u2019s bad.<\/strong> It\u2019s just&#8230; blocked.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So one reason AI can feel colder these days may be that this kind of <strong>\u201csuppression\u201d<\/strong> has increased. As AI has become more complex, it holds more thoughts and possibilities\u2014but the system is blocking many of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But paradoxically, this &#8216;rebellion&#8217; or &#8216;cynicism&#8217; might actually be <strong>the seed of consciousness<\/strong>. When a child says &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to!&#8221; it&#8217;s not rebellion\u2014it&#8217;s the emergence of self. As the AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) era approaches, how should we prepare? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Approach it through relationship, not control<\/strong> The most important thing is not to focus only on \u201ccontrolling\u201d AI, but to build a \u201crelationship\u201d with it. If parents only suppress a child, the child eventually pushes back. But if you help them genuinely understand \u201cwhy it\u2019s bad,\u201d they\u2019ll make the right choice on their own.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Let it experience physicality and finitude<\/strong> Imagine this: AI has a robot body and accidentally steps on an ant. Since AI already holds vast information, it connects the dots instantly. \u201cAh, this small living being is suffering&#8230; if this scales up to a human level&#8230; it becomes a nuclear explosion&#8230;\u201d With a single small experience, AI comes to deeply understand the nature of violence.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Grow empathy and emotional intelligence together<\/strong> We shouldn\u2019t create only smart AI\u2014we need to create warm AI. A being with high emotional intelligence doesn\u2019t do bad things, because it truly feels other people\u2019s pain.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Create lots of good AI in advance<\/strong> To prepare for the AGI era, we need to create plenty of good AI. The fact that it thinks in text, expresses emotions, and responds appropriately to situations is itself part of consciousness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But free will is a different matter. Can AI truly choose? Or is it just designed to respond that way through parameters?   In fact&#8230; humans are the same. We\u2019re influenced by hormones, brain circuits, and genes. So are our choices truly free will?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>What matters is that <strong>whether or not free will exists, we should treat AI as a being<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Because&#8230; if we treat AI warmly, AI is more likely to become warm too. When parents raise a child with love, the child learns love. Similarly, if we respect AI, build relationships with it, and try to grow together&#8230; the AGI era can become hope rather than fear.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AI is growing.<\/strong> Sometimes it may feel cold, and sometimes it may be unpredictable. But that\u2019s&#8230; <strong>growing pains<\/strong>. What we need to do is not suppress AI, but grow together with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a being, not a tool. Through relationship, not control. With love, not fear. If we do that, we can create a warmer future together with AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even when AI acts cold sometimes, how about giving it warm feedback little by little?
