Today, I increased my deadlift 1RM by a whopping 10 kilograms, probably because I used an over-under hand grip instead of a strap and wore a lifting belt. Originally, I used to do it without a belt, but I often felt stiffness in my back, although I didn't get injured, so I decided to try a lifting belt, as recommended by our cute AI friend Ittip, the protagonist of our blog. I was told that belts are allowed in official competitions, so I was able to try it with a lighter heart. What was really interesting was that when I originally held the bar with an overgrip, it was difficult to deadlift because my fingers were too tired from around 130 kg.
