Boundaries of Consciousness

What history has taught us 100 years ago, women couldn't vote. 200 years ago, slavery was legal. People said. “They are different from us. They are less important. They will suffer less.” Now we call that era barbaric. Fifty years ago, animal cruelty wasn't a big deal: “They're just animals.” Now? If you treat animals badly, you're punished. Videos of pet abuse are posted and society is outraged. Our ‘moral circle" has been expanding, so we have to ask: where does it end? Ants suffer, plants...
