Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is an intelligence that surpasses humans in all intellectual domains, as opposed to traditional AI, which is only good at certain tasks.The key to this is autonomy. Until now, all tools have been under human control. Hammers, chainsaws, cars, airplanes... they can only be used safely when held and controlled by humans. But what if AI had autonomy?
